The Process

Your custom ties begin with your vision and your ideas. I love the process of fabric finding, and color matching, so the first thing that I like to do with my custom clients is to spend some time getting to know what they're looking for, through email, phone call, or a face to face meeting. This is when we'll discuss colors, textures, type, quantity, and size of the ties. From there, I will take a few days to source a gallery of fabrics for your perusal. You'll choose some favorites, or if none suit, then we'll start again, with a new gallery, until we find the perfect fabrics for you. Once you've chosen the fabrics, I'll begin working to create your ties, which usually takes 2-3 weeks. Then, they'll be mailed to you via Priority Mail, or if you're local, you're welcome to come pick them up!

Fabric sourcing

Most of my ties are made from high quality cotton, linen, or rayon, but fine silk is also available! I search high and low to find the best fabrics for you.

Hand sewing

Each tie is hand sewn in my home studio in Birmingham, Alabama. All of the neck ties feature hand-tacked lining and a back seam that is carefully, and invisibly, sewn. The bow ties all feature an adjustable neck strap, and the pre-ties have a convenient button for easy wearing.

Heirloom Quality

Every attention to detail is given, from the careful choice of fabric, to each tiny stitch that makes your ties. These are not mass-produced ties -- although I have made a lot of them! -- each tie is made, one at a time, to last a lifetime.
