Tie It Together: Outfits for 9 School Occasions

Are you the parent that rejoices when the school bus rolls on the block? Or, maybe you tear up as you drop off your firstborn at day care. Either way, it's time for school to start again. Thus begins the dreaded mornings of dressing your little ragamuffins before the morning bell rings.

You may have stocked up on new clothes, but have you considered investing in a cute, child-sized bow tie or some school girl hair ties? These delicate additions can add a flair of sassiness or elegance for a special school event. Or, they can add a dash of color to complement a neutral school outfit.

When you're at a loss of ideas, here are some cute outfit options for your kids. We've got you covered for events through the fall and winter.

Another Ordinary Day

Some days, your kids just need a simple outfit to wear to school. On these days, dress your child in comfy, neutral colored leggings and a wordy, graphic tee.

To make the outfit look more intentional (and less like y'all just rolled out of bed), choose a cute pattern from our diverse collection of hair scarves.

Field Trip

Prepare for your children to get hot, sweaty, and dirty on field trips. They're going to need something durable so that they can adventure freely.

We recommend a simple striped shirt (or really any shirt), sturdy overalls, and some sneakers. Add some school girl bows to keep her hair up as she explores the world.

Class Performance

The big day is approaching. Your little boy is concerned with remembering his solo in the school performance, but you're more concerned with figuring out what he's going to wear. Try a simple button down with jeans or khakis (depending on how fancy you're feeling), and use one of our bow ties to tie it all together.

Student Art Show

Those lumpy animals and lopsided faces your kids draw may be a work in progress, but you can make sure their outfits are a complete masterpiece. We always keep a variety of abstract patterns in stock. They will help your little girl look like the part at her student art show.

Book Fair

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
— Dr. Seuss

As your kids go, go, go everywhere, help them look fashionable. Select your favorite book, literary text, or glasses pattern, and let us know which product you want us to create!

Select a shirt with colors that coordinate with your favorite pattern. Add a pair of jeans or shorts, and your kids are good to go!

School Picture Day

Say cheese! A sweet bow tie will help your baby boy stand out as the adorable kid he is. Just look at that smile! We love this pairing of a colorful plaid bow with a denim shirt.

Pumpkin Patch

Crisp leaves crunching under your feet. A cozy sweater keeping you warm. The sight of orange gourds in a dry field. You must chaperoning your child's trip to the pumpkin patch!

We love this outfit of a whimsical fall pattern paired with polka dots. In this case, our neutral linen school girl bows complement the outfit without overwhelming it.

Halloween

You can get creative and send us the patterns you want for any Halloween outfits. One of our personal favorites is Rosie the Riveter. We have plenty of red patterns that will complete the look.

Christmas Party

Whew, you've almost made it through the first half of the school year. All that's left to do is bake the reindeer cookies, and lay out your kids' clothes for their exciting Christmas party.

We recommend letting them wear whatever festive outfit they desire. Whether it's a tacky sweater or an adorable dress, let them express their Christmas cheer! Add some red gingham pigtail bows, and they are sure to be show stoppers.
